NBS bank launches ecommerce platform for SMEs, others

The new platform will be powered by Network International’s online payment getaway known as N-Genius

NBS Bank, a Malawi-based commercial bank, has rolled out its ecommerce platform know as ab with London-based company Network International. Network International provides technology-enabled payments solution to banks and merchants across the Middle East and Africa.

The new platform will be powered by Network International’s online payment getaway known as N-Genius. Furthermore, the platform will pave the path for NBS Bank to offer a platform for SME’s, large corporations, individuals and public institutions to enter the Malawi’s ecommerce segment.

Andrew Key, Managing Director, Network International Africa, told the media, “Network International already enjoys a long-term, successful relationship with NBS having helped the bank deliver many innovative products to their clients over the years, including both local processing and connectivity to international card schemes. Through utilizing our proprietary N-Genius platform, Network is proud to provide NBS the latest cutting-edge technology. NBS have always challenged the traditional banking offering, through technology-driven innovation and we are delighted to support them as they look to increase online payment acceptance among the population of Malawi and the SADC (South African Development Community) region.”

Network International was founded in 1994 and since then it has client base in more than 50 economies. The company is leading the role across African and the Middle east to drive digital payments acceptance and end-to-end payment solutions offerings.

NBS Bank, which is incorporated in 1964. The bank has been at the forefront in Malawi to provide a wide range of financial services to individuals, SME’s, large corporations and public institutions
